KOI

Laguz

Laguz is the second EP and physical debut by KOI, the alias of mexican producer Diana Moreno, done after her first approaches to music. This release is an extended play which became a long-play following time spent exploring soundscapes and playful voids, resulting in a sequence of unconventional beats full of textured analogue and field recordings, which also developed diverse audiovisual collaborations. Its sonic narrative expresses the need to constantly dissolve cadence through ambience.

Laguz emerged while also working with several collectives in KOI’s native city, and was supported by the Berlin based label AM 01:09:69 JUN-05-1970, who put out the first digital edition of this masterful debut. Laguz is an exploration of these uncommon terrains and, as KOI’s first physical release, it marks the birth of the new Ekô label. This new adventure initiates a series of releases which will continue with a spirit of seeking union, both of the dancefloor and other-wordly sound realms.
